Με μικτά πρόσημα έκλεισαν σήμερα τα ευρωπαϊκά χρηματιστήρια, με τα εταιρικά κέρδη να παραμένουν στο επίκεντρο.

Η NatWest ανακοίνωσε τα ετήσια οικονομικά της αποτελέσματα, ξεπερνώντας τις εκτιμήσεις για τα κέρδη και τα έσοδα. Η εταιρεία, η οποία εξακολουθεί να ανήκει εν μέρει στο κράτος, είπε ότι η κυβέρνηση του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου μείωσε το μερίδιο της στην τράπεζα από 7,98% σε 6,98%.

Στην Ισπανία, ο Δείκτης Τιμών Καταναλωτή για τον μήνα Ιανουάριο σε ετήσια βάση ενισχύθηκε 2,9% έναντι εκτιμήσεων των οικονομολόγων για αύξηση 3% και αύξησης 2,8% το προηγούμενο έτος, ενώ ο Εναρμονισμένος Δείκτης Τιμών Καταναλωτή 2,9% (σύμφωνα με τις εκτιμήσεις των οικονομολόγων) έναντι αύξησης 2,8% το προηγούμενο έτος.

Στην ευρωζώνη, σύμφωνα με τα προκαταρκτικά στοιχεία το ΑΕΠ για το τέταρτο τρίμηνο πραγματοποίησε αύξηση 0,1% έναντι εκτιμήσεων των οικονομολόγων για αμετάβλητο και αύξησης 0,4% το προηγούμενο τρίμηνο, ενώ σε ετήσια βάση ενισχύθηκε 0,9% (σύμφωνα με τις εκτιμήσεις των οικονομολόγων) έναντι αύξησης 0,9% το προηγούμενο έτος.

Ο δείκτης Stoxx 600 έκλεισε στις 551,86 μονάδες με πτώση 0,34%, πραγματοποιώντας ενδοσυνεδριακά ιστορικό ρεκόρ στις 554,60 μονάδες.

Στην Φρανκφούρτη ο δείκτης DAX έκλεισε στις 22.505,29 μονάδες με πτώση 0,47%, πραγματοποιώντας εβδομαδιαία κέρδη 3,19%, με το σήμα να παραμένει σε strong buy, και με την στήριξη να βρίσκεται στις 20.433 μονάδες και την επόμενη στις 19.854 μονάδες.

Στο Λονδίνο ο δείκτης FTSE 100 έκλεισε στις 8.729,71 μονάδες με πτώση 0,40%, πραγματοποιώντας εβδομαδιαία κέρδη 0,30%, με το σήμα να διατηρείται σε strong buy, και με την στήριξη να βρίσκεται στις 8.440 μονάδες και την επόμενη στις 8.367 μονάδες.

Commerzbank: In a research note published by Anke Reingen, RBC gives a Neutral rating to the stock. The target price is increased from EUR 19 to EUR 22.

EON: Already positive, the research from JP Morgan and its analyst Javier Garrido still consider the stock as a Buy opportunity. The target price remains set at EUR 16.

ASML: JP Morgan analyst Sandeep Deshpande maintains his Buy rating on the stock.

Akzo Nobel: Chetan Udeshi from JP Morgan retains his positive opinion on the stock with a Buy rating. The target price continues to be set at EUR 70.

Nestle: In a research note, JP Morgan analyst Celine Pannuti has maintained his recommendation on the stock with a Neutral rating. The target price is unchanged and still at CHF 85.

French jet engine maker Safran (EPA:SAF) raised its profit and cash forecasts for 2025 on Friday, after posting a 30% jump in annual core income led by increased air traffic.

Safran reported 4.119 billion euros ($4.31 billion) in recurring operating income for the 12 months ended December 31, as sales rose 18% to 27.317 billion euros in 2024. It forecast 4.8 billion-4.9 billion euros of comparable profit for this year, with revenue still projected up around 10%.

Analysts were on average expecting 4.132 billion euros in recurring operating income on revenues of 27.157 billion for 2024, according to a company compiled consensus. They are also forecasting 4.814 billion euros of core profit for 2025.

Together with GE Aerospace, Safran co-produces the best-selling LEAP engine for all Boeing (NYSE:BA) and most Airbus narrow-body jets through their CFM International joint venture.

Parts for the engines criss-cross the Atlantic, with assembly lines in France and the United States, while Safran imports other parts to Boeing from Canada and Mexico, putting it in the crosshairs of a possible regional and wider tariff war.

“Today it is very difficult to give a precise answer until we know the conditions of any possible tariffs, if they confirmed,” Safran CEO Olivier Andries told reporters.

“It is probable that these measures will have an impact but today it is very difficult to quantify it.”

Safran predicted a 15-20% rise in LEAP deliveries in 2025 and revised upwards a forecast for spare parts revenue, while warning that risks also remained from fragile supply chains.

After a tug of war over scarce engine parts between new aircraft assembly lines and maintenance shops for existing jets, Safran CEO Olivier Andreis said meeting the requirements of both sets of customers remained priorities for profitable growth.

Overall propulsion revenue rose 15% last year led by services linked to strong air traffic, Safran said.

Air travel also helped to drive revenue at its Equipment and Defense division up 18%, with an increase in long-haul traffic pushing up demand for maintenance of landing systems.

Safran’s seats business reached breakeven after significant restructuring and overall Aircraft Interiors revenue grew 25%.

Tomra (OL:TOM) reported strong fourth-quarter results on Friday, with year-over-year growth across its key business segments. 

The Norwegian recycling and sensor-based solutions company posted revenue of 398 million euros for the quarter, a 12% increase from 354 million euros in the same period last year.

Recycling was the standout performer, with revenue jumping by 37% to 103 million euros, reflecting strong demand and a high rate of backlog conversion. 

The Collection segment, which includes deposit return systems, recorded a modest 2% revenue increase to 203 million euros. 

Tomra’s Food division, which has faced a challenging market environment, grew 13% year-over-year to 91 million euros, signaling a recovery.

Gross margin for the company improved to 46%, up from 44% a year ago. Recycling achieved a record-high gross margin of 56% (compared to 53% in Q4 2023), driven by higher sales volumes. 

Food’s gross margin rose to 45% from 42%, supported by cost-cutting measures, while Collection remained stable at 41%.

Tomra’s EBITA, adjusted for special items, increased 46% to 78 million euros, up from 53 million euros last year. 

The Recycling division led profitability with an EBITA margin of 39% (compared to 25% a year ago), while Food improved to 13% from 7%. Collection saw a slight decline, with its margin slipping to 17% from 18%.

The company’s order intake in Recycling rose 15% to 76 million euros, leading to a 9% increase in order backlog to 107 million euros. 

In contrast, the Food segment saw a 10% decline in order intake to 85 million euros, but its backlog still grew by 6% to 108 million euros.

Earnings per share, adjusted for special items, increased 54% to 0.18 euros, compared to 0.11 euros a year earlier. 

The Board of Directors proposed a dividend of 2.15 Norwegian kroner per share, a 10% increase from the previous year.

“The EU’s adoption of the Packaging (NYSE:PKG) and Packing Waste Regulation (PPWR) will shape circularity for decades, introducing the first-ever legally binding recycled content requirements for packaging, DRS in all EU countries, and many additional promising obligations for the industry to boost recycling rates,” said Tomra’s chief executive, Tove Andersen in a statement.

“With DRS regulation now in place in several countries including Spain and the UK, the coming years look very encouraging for increased circularity,” Andersen added.
